Terms & Conditions

Things to know before booking a car.

  • Insurance
  • ABC Car rental's cars are insured:
  •           (a) Against third parties (excluding the driver and their passengers) for death and personalinjury
  •           (b) For damage to property of third parties (excluding the car of 'ABC Car Rentals')
  •           (c) Damage to ABC Car Rental's car by fire
  •           (d) For damage to the rental car of "ABC Car Rentals" the customer is liable up to the total value of the exemption at the time of the accident.
  • Mixed Security with Limited Damage Liability - C. D. W. (Collision Damage Waiver) :
  • C.D.W. is included in the rental cost and sets the maximum amount of liability of the renter for damage to the car up to the amount of the excess:
  •           (a) For car categories A1, B1 maximum excess € 800
  •           (b) For categories C, C1, C3, C4, G maximum excess €1000
  •           (c) For categories C2, G1 maximum excess €1200
  •           (d) For categories D, D2, E, E2, E3, G2, R, S, I2, I3 maximum excess €1600
  •           (e) For car categories F, G3, I, I1, J, J1, J2, J3, K1, K2, K3, S1, S2, S3, S4 maximum excess €2000
  • * Note: In the event of an accident, you must call the police and report the incident immediately, then submit a copy of the police report along with the rental contract to the rental company. CDW coverage does not apply beyond the agreed rental duration with the local rental company.
  • Additional Car Insurance
  • Mixed insurance with Full Loss Liability Exemption – F. C. D. W. (Full Collision Damage Waiver) – The renter can be fully exempted from the above-mentioned C.D.W exemption amounts by paying an extra daily cost depending on the category of the car.
  • No insurance cover shall cover damage caused to tyres, mirrors and the bottom of the bodywork.
  • NOT CALLED BY NO INSURANCE
  • FACTS PROVIDED BY THE CONSULTATION OF ALCOHOL OR THE USE OF NARCOTIC SUBSTANCES, EVERYTHING AND PROVISIONS OF THE DIRECTIVE CODE
  • DRIVER AND PASSENGER INSURANCE (P.A.I)
  • It is offered for € 3 per day and covers: Compensation in case of death, Total / Partial disability up to € 50,000 and for hospitalizations 1500 €
  • THEFT COVER (T.P.)
  • Coverage of theft of the car of "ABC Car Rentals" against the additional payment: of € 3, 00 per day for all categories.

General Terms of Car Rental

  • Driver Age
  • For categories A, B, C, minimum age 21 years and for all other categories 23 years. The maximum age is 75 years.

  • Driving License
  • The driver must hold a licence for at least one year.

  • Rental Cost Calculation
  • The rental cost is calculated on a 24-hour basis with a margin of 2 hours calculated from the time of return of the vehicle. After 2 hours an extra day is charged.

  • Booking
  • If you cancel up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled receipt of the vehicle there is no charge

  • DELIVERY / RECEIPT
  • * At our offices free of charge
  • * From / to hotels within the city of Heraklion free of charge
  • * At the airport and the port of the city of Heraklion free of charge
  • * From / to suburban hotels the tenant is charged according to the distance and is charged with € 0.50 per km
  • * Night charge (excluding opening hours ie: 22:00 pm – 08:00 am) is charged with € 20.00

  • Change Car Type
  • The company reserves the right depending on availability to provide a different type of car than that of the original reservation with a corresponding, or higher category at no extra charge

  • "RENT HERE-LEAVE THERE" SYSTEM
  • It is offered between the stations of ABC Car Rentals only after written approval and with a special charge in consultation with "ABC Car Rentals"

  • ROAD ASSISTANCE
  • Interamerican (24 hour service). For cases of immobilization of an electric vehicle due to low battery level, a charge of € 25 applies, which is charged to the driver, for transporting the vehicle to the nearest charging point

  • Taxes
  • VAT 24% is paid by the tenant

  • Payment methods
  • Payment for the rent is made upon receipt of the car in cash or by credit/debit card. In special cases you may need to pay in advance to confirm your booking (you will be informed in time by booking department).

  • Protections & Requirements
  • Fines and Administrative Penalties resulting from traffic offences committed during the rental period of the car are entirely borne by the tenant and the company must be informed.

  • Reservation Change or Cancellation
  • For any change or cancellation of the reservation, the customer must inform the competent reservation department at least 48 hours before the receipt of the vehicle

  • Car Type & Category
  • The type of car is indicated and only the car category is confirmed. In special cases of unavailability we will offer you a larger category car at no extra charge.

  • Return of the Car before the date stated on the rental
  • No part of the payment will be refunded if the vehicle is returned earlier than the end of the rental period.

  • Fuel Policy
  • With the amount of fuel you will receive the car with the same amount you will have to return it. If the vehicle is returned with extra fuel, the value of the fuel is non-refundable. Any difference is paid at the return station. Within the city of Heraklion the tenant is charged with € 15, 00. Outside the city of Heraklion the tenant is charged according to the distance and is charged with € 0.50 per km

  • Kilometers
  • There is no limit to the kilometres/miles of each rental day.

  • Geographical Restrictions
  • It is not allowed to drive the car outside Crete without the company's certificate.

  • Fines and Offenses
  • Administrative Sanctions resulting from traffic violations committed during the rental period of the car are borne entirely by the tenant and the company must be informed. If the fine is discovered afterwards and after the end of the lease, the violation will be charged to the tenant.

  • Loss of Keys
  • In case of loss of car keys, you should inform us immediately to give you a spare. The cost of replacing the key is borne solely by the tenant and is not covered by any insurance.
  • OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES
  • ADDITIONAL DRIVER: You have the option to enter in the rental contract and 2nd guide completely free. The 3rd driver is charged with € 2 / day.
  • NAVIGATOR - GPS: Available only after booking and with a charge of € 8 / day. You save in time and money (fuel value).
  • ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT:
  • Child / Baby Seats: 2 types of child seats are available: * Baby seat - Suitable for babies up to 3 years old with an additional charge of € 2 / day. * Child Seat - Suitable for children over 4 years with an additional charge of € 2 / day. (The Client must determine the age of the child and they are placed only by the parent or guardian).
  • Snow chains: Snow chains are available at an additional cost.
  • Roof Grilles: Not available.
